Paver Driveways in Raleigh & Wake County

The largest hardscape, and the first impression.

Your driveway is the largest hardscape on the property and the first impression of the home. An interlocking paver driveway carries weight that cracks poured concrete, outlasts it by decades, and turns a purely functional surface into architecture.

Our approach

What’s included, and how we build it

What a 1OAK paver driveway includes

A driveway base is a different animal from a patio base — it has to carry vehicles. We excavate deeper, install a thicker compacted aggregate base engineered for vehicular load, and set interlocking pavers rated for driveways in the pattern and border you approved. Locked with the right jointing and secured edges, the interlock distributes load across the field so the surface stays flat where concrete would crack and spall.

How we approach Wake County driveways

We grade for positive drainage away from the garage and street, and where stormwater management matters we can integrate permeable paver zones that let water pass through rather than sheet off. Because individual pavers can be lifted and reset, a paver driveway is repairable rather than disposable — a utility line or settled area can be addressed without demolishing and repouring the whole surface.

Common questions

Paver Driveways, answered

How much does a paver driveway cost in Raleigh?
Driveway cost depends on the area, the driveway-rated paver you choose, the depth of base required for vehicle loads, and any drainage or grading work. We charge materials at our supplier cost with zero markup and show the full breakdown, so you are paying for a properly engineered driveway, not a marked-up one.
Are paver driveways durable enough for vehicles?
Yes, when built correctly. Driveway-rated pavers on a load-engineered base actually handle vehicle weight and freeze-thaw better than poured concrete, because the interlocking units flex slightly and distribute load instead of cracking as a single slab.
Can pavers be repaired if one gets damaged or stained?
That is one of their biggest advantages. Individual pavers can be lifted and reset or replaced — for a repair, a settled spot, or access to what is beneath — without the patchwork appearance you get when concrete is cut and repoured.
Do paver driveways help with drainage?
They can. We can specify permeable paver systems with open-graded joints that let stormwater infiltrate through the surface, which helps manage runoff and can support local stormwater requirements while still giving you a finished, drivable surface.
